Stocks Recover as Yields Ease, Broadcom Offers Anthropic $42B and Armadin Raises $255M: What’s Going On Today
Markets
US stocks recovered from early losses on Thursday, October 1, and closed slightly higher as Treasury yields retreated from multi-decade highs, Reuters reported. The reversal followed a sharp global bond selloff that had pushed the US 10-year yield to its highest level since 2002. European shares, by contrast, closed at a three-month low as higher borrowing costs weighed on banks, according to Reuters.

Broadcom could lend Anthropic up to $42 billion to help fund chip leases, according to a Reuters review of Anthropic’s IPO filing. The potential financing could cover about one-third of Anthropic’s $125.2 billion commitment to lease Google TPU computing capacity over five years. The filing also describes substantial AI infrastructure spending and deep reliance on major technology partners.
Cybersecurity startup Armadin, founded by former Mandiant chief Kevin Mandia, raised $255.5 million in a Series B round on October 1, valuing the company at more than $2.5 billion, Reuters and TechCrunch reported. TechCrunch said the round was led by Andreessen Horowitz and Accel, and followed a $190 million Series A in March.
