Tesla (TSLA): Germany backs EU-wide FSD approval, but the vote slips to December
Germany's transport minister says Berlin will push for EU-wide approval of Tesla's FSD, and Tesla has offered to rename it "Tesla Assisted Driving." But the member-state vote has slipped to December at the earliest, and approval needs 15 of 27 states.
Why it matters Europe is a key market where Tesla's driver-assistance software is still mostly unapproved. German backing helps, but Sweden and France have raised concerns, and eight countries holding about 13% of the EU population have approved it so far.
What we verified The Next Web and Seoul Economic Daily both report Steffen Bilger's Oct 6 remarks, the slip of the EU vote to December, and that Germany could act alone if Brussels stalls. The 15-of-27 threshold and the eight-country count are from Seoul Economic Daily; the rename offer is from The Next Web.
