GE HealthCare (GEHC): Agrees to buy radiopharmaceutical maker SOFIE Biosciences for $945 million
GE HealthCare agreed to buy SOFIE Biosciences from Trilantic for $945M in cash, adding 15 US sites and 21 cyclotrons that make PET imaging agents. It says the deal should add to adjusted EPS in year one. Close expected in H1 2027.
Why it matters The deal gives GE HealthCare a foothold in the time-sensitive "final mile" of US PET radiopharmaceutical supply, where short-lived tracers must be made close to the patient. Closing still needs regulatory approval.
What we verified Pulse 2.0, PharmaSource and Kirkland & Ellis (adviser to SOFIE) confirm $945M in cash from Trilantic North America, 15 US manufacturing sites with 21 cyclotrons, and a close expected in the first half of 2027. The accretion claim is GE HealthCare's own guidance as reported by Pulse 2.0.
